Target Information

Canine DnaJ homolog subfamily A member 2 (DNAJA2) is a protein belonging to the evolutionarily conserved DNAJ/HSP40 family of proteins, which regulate molecular chaperone activity by stimulating ATPase activity. These proteins are crucial for protein folding and mitochondrial protein import, and may have up to three distinct domains: a conserved J domain, a glycine/phenylalanine (G/F)-rich region, and a cysteine-rich domain containing zinc finger-like motifs. In dogs, DNAJA2 plays a significant role in maintaining cellular homeostasis, particularly in response to stress, and its dysfunction can be associated with various diseases, including autoimmune vasculitis and subacute bacterial endocarditis.
