Target Information
Canine mast cell tryptase is a serine protease enzyme stored in the secretory granules of mast cells and plays a significant role in inflammation, tissue remodeling, and angiogenesis. It is released when mast cells degranulate in response to allergen-bound IgE or non-immunological stimuli, contributing to local or systemic effects. In veterinary medicine, tryptase has been associated with canine mast cell tumors (MCTs), which are one of the most common cutaneous malignancies in dogs. Tryptase's activity is implicated in tumor angiogenesis, influencing tumor growth, invasion, and metastasis.
