Mouse Anti-Feline Immunodefiency Virus (FIV) P24 Monoclonal Antibody-Detection
Product Overview
BioVenic mouse monoclonal antibody is specific for feline immunodefiency virus P24. It can be applied to ELISA, WB, IHC and IFA assays of feline immunodefiency virus P24. The clone L9N21 can be used as capture antibody and the L9N22 can be used as detection antibody in the ELISA assay.

Target Information
Feline immunodeficiency virus (FIV) is a lentivirus that affects the domestic cat species, causing a progressive immunodeficiency similar to HIV in humans. The P24 protein, also known as p24 capsid protein or p24gag, is a structural component of the virus and plays a crucial role in the formation of the viral core. The P24 protein is highly conserved among FIV strains and is a target for both the cat's immune system and diagnostic tests. It is produced in large quantities during the viral replication process, making it a reliable marker for the presence of the virus in an infected cat. The P24 antigen is often used in enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays (ELISA) to detect FIV infection, as the cat's immune response to the P24 protein is a reliable indicator of exposure to the virus.
