Target Information

Porcine chromogranin A (CHGA), also known as secretogranin I, is a highly acidic, soluble protein that is predominantly found within the secretory granules of endocrine and neuroendocrine cells in pigs. CHGA serves as a precursor for a variety of bioactive peptides and plays a pivotal role in the regulation of secretory processes, particularly in response to cellular stimulation. This protein is involved in the packaging, sorting, and regulated secretion of hormones and neurotransmitters. It interacts with other proteins within the secretory granules, influencing their maturation and release. CHGA is also considered a reliable marker for neuroendocrine tumors due to its high expression in these cells.
