Target Information

Porcine neurogenic differentiation 2 (NEUROD2) is a crucial transcription factor involved in the development and survival of central nervous system neurons. It plays a significant role in neuronal differentiation, dendritic growth, and synaptogenesis. NEUROD2 is highly expressed in the developing cortex and its expression persists into adulthood, albeit at lower levels. This factor has been implicated in the radial migration process of cortical neurons and is known to regulate the expression of downstream targets such as Camk4, which is involved in dendritic differentiation. Additionally, NEUROD2 has been shown to bind to several introns of the Reelin (Reln) gene, correlating with reduced levels of Reln mRNA, suggesting a role in regulating neuronal migration and lamination.
