Target Information
Porcine zeta-chain associated protein kinase (PZAPK), also known as porcine ZIPK, is a kinase enzyme that is homologous to its human counterpart, Zeta-chain associated protein kinase (ZAP-70). PZAPK plays a pivotal role in the immune system, particularly in T-cell activation and signaling pathways. It is involved in the phosphorylation of key proteins that are essential for the development and function of the immune response. This protein kinase is activated upon T-cell receptor engagement, leading to a cascade of intracellular signaling events that result in the activation of transcription factors and gene expression necessary for the immune response. PZAPK is also implicated in the regulation of cell proliferation, differentiation, and apoptosis.
