Target Information

Porcine prostaglandin E receptor 4 (pPTGER4), also known as the E-type prostanoid 4 receptor, is a pivotal G-protein coupled receptor (GPCR) that binds to prostaglandin E2 (PGE2). This receptor is integral in the modulation of inflammatory responses, pain sensation, and immune function within porcine physiology. The pPTGER4 is expressed in a variety of porcine tissues, including the brain, immune cells, and the urogenital system, suggesting its broad impact on the pig's biological processes. Activation of this receptor can lead to the inhibition of adenylyl cyclase, thereby reducing intracellular cAMP levels and subsequently influencing cellular signaling pathways.
