Target Information

Lethal factor (LF) is a key component of the tripartite toxin produced by Bacillus anthracis, the bacterium responsible for causing anthrax. The tripartite toxin consists of three main components, protective antigen (PA), edema factor (EF), and lethal factor (LF). LF, along with PA, forms the lethal toxin (LT), which plays a significant role in the pathogenesis of anthrax. LF along with other components of the anthrax toxin are important targets for the detection of Bacillus anthracis infection.
