Target Information
Syntenin, also known as CD2-binding protein (CD2BP), is an adaptor protein that plays a crucial role in cellular adhesion and the linkage of cell surface receptors to the actin cytoskeleton. It is implicated in various biological functions, including the regulation of cell migration, the maintenance of tight junctions, and the formation of focal adhesions. Syntenin interacts with a multitude of proteins, such as CD2, which is important for immune cell function, and the catenin family, which is key to cell-cell interactions.
