Target Information
Porcine Succinate Receptor 1 (SUCNR1), also known as GPR91, is a G protein-coupled receptor that binds succinate, a metabolite involved in cellular energy metabolism and stress signaling. SUCNR1 is expressed in various tissues, including the kidney, liver, and immune cells, where it mediates responses to metabolic stress and inflammation. In porcine models, SUCNR1 is involved in sensing extracellular succinate, which acts as a danger signal during hypoxia or ischemia, triggering immune and inflammatory responses. This receptor couples to both Gi and Gq signaling pathways, regulating calcium mobilization and gene expression.
