Target Information
Equine viral arteritis (EVA) is an equine disease caused by the Alphaarterivirus equid, an RNA virus. The symptoms vary based on factors such as the horse's age, the viral strain, the horse's overall health, and the method of infection. The virus was initially identified in 1953 after an outbreak of respiratory illness and spontaneous abortions on a horse farm in Ohio.
