Horsepox Virus (HSPV) Probe-based qPCR Kit

Horsepox virus (HSPV) is an Orthopoxvirus responsible for horsepox, a poxviral disease historically affecting horses. While it was common before the 20th century, horsepox is now rare and considered nearly extinct. Several clinical forms of horsepox have been documented, including a benign, localized form causing lesions on the muzzle and in the buccal cavity, previously referred to as contagious pustular stomatitis, and a generalized, highly contagious form known as equine papular stomatitis.
