Target Information

Equine serum amyloid A (SAA) is recognized as the major acute phase protein in horses, produced during the acute phase response (APR) to tissue injury. In healthy horses, SAA concentration is minimal, but it significantly increases with inflammation. Due to its short half-life, SAA levels in blood closely reflect the onset of inflammation, making its measurement valuable for diagnosing and monitoring diseases and treatment responses.
