Target Information
Feline calicivirus (FCV) is a highly contagious virus that primarily affects cats. It is a member of the Caliciviridae family and one of the major causes of upper respiratory tract infections in cats. FCV is one of the viruses associated with Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis, a complex of respiratory diseases in cats. It can lead to symptoms such as sneezing, nasal discharge, oral ulcers, and conjunctivitis. In addition to respiratory symptoms, some strains of FCV are associated with a condition known as "limping syndrome" or "polyarthritis," causing joint pain and lameness.
