Target Information
Cluster of differentiation 44 (CD44) also known as Pgp-1 (phagocytic glycoprotein-1) is a type I transmembrane protein and member of the cartilage link protein family. CD44 is a family of transmembrane glycoproteins that is emerging as a multidomain platform, which integrates a variety of extracellular information, thereby regulating cell-cell and cell-matrix adhesion, and controlling cell proliferation, differentiation, migration, and survival. Swine CD44 has a key role in oocyte maturation but not in cumulus expansion.
