Target Information

Mycoplasma species are recognized pathogens in human and veterinary medicine. Mammals, especially primates including humans, can harbor similar or even identical Mycoplasma species that may be either commensal or pathogenic. Mycoplasma sphenisci was described in an African penguin showing signs of upper respiratory tract disease in a North American aquarium.
