Target Information
Bovine mTOR (mechanistic target of rapamycin) is a serine/threonine protein kinase that plays a central role in regulating cell growth, metabolism, and survival. It integrates signals from nutrients, growth factors, and environmental conditions to control protein synthesis, autophagy, and lipid metabolism. mTOR exists in two complexes, mTORC1 and mTORC2, which regulate different cellular processes. mTORC1 is particularly important for controlling protein synthesis and lipid synthesis in bovine mammary epithelial cells.
