Target Information
Canine leukemia inhibitory factor (LIF) is a pleiotropic cytokine belonging to the IL-6 family, known for its diverse biological functions. It plays a crucial role in regulating cell proliferation, differentiation, and survival, particularly in the context of stem cell maintenance and neural development. In dogs, LIF is expressed in the pituitary gland and corticotrope adenomas, where it activates the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis and promotes corticotrope cell differentiation.
