Target Information

Mycobacterium tuberculosis ESAT-6, also known as Early Secreted Antigenic Target-6, is a protein secreted by M. tuberculosis during infection. It is one of the ESX (Type VII) secretion system proteins and is implicated in the bacterium's virulence. ESAT-6 is secreted by M. tuberculosis and is believed to play a role in the pathogenesis of tuberculosis by aiding the bacterium in manipulating the host immune response and facilitating its survival within host cells.
