Target Information

Cyprinid herpesvirus-2 is a linear double-stranded DNA virus belonging to the genus Cyprinivirus of the family Alloherpesviridae. This virus is highly pathogenic to goldfish and carps, causing significant mortality rates. Recognized as an emerging viral pathogen worldwide, Cyprinid herpesvirus 2 (CyHV-2) targets goldfish and crucian carp. It possesses a large genome with double-stranded DNA, encompassing several genes similar to those found in cyprinid herpesvirus 1, ictalurid herpesvirus-1, cyprinid herpesvirus 3, and ranid herpesvirus-1.
