Target Information

Fusarium poae is part of the Fusarium sambucinum species complex (FSAMSC), which consists of over 70 phylogenetically distinct species. It is found on crops such as barley, oats, and wheat, and is often isolated from wheat showing symptoms of Fusarium head blight (FHB). Fusarium poae produces trichothecenes, such as nivalenol, which are among the mycotoxins of greatest concern to agriculture.
