Target Information
Serum amyloid A is a family of apolipoproteins that are associated with high-density lipoproteins (HDL) in the blood. In cattle, SAA is produced in the liver and released into the bloodstream in response to inflammation or infection. SAA levels are commonly measured as a marker of veterinary inflammation or infection. Monitoring SAA levels can help evaluate the response to treatment in cattle with inflammation.
