Target Information
Canine DNA-Binding Protein Ikaros (IKZF1) is a transcriptional regulator crucial for hematopoietic cell differentiation and lymphocyte development. It belongs to the zinc-finger protein family and binds to gamma-satellite DNA, playing a key role in the development of B- and T-cells. Ikaros is also involved in the regulation of gene expression and chromatin organization, with its N-terminal zinc fingers required for DNA binding and targeting to heterochromatin. Mutations in Ikaros have been associated with B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (B-ALL) and other hematologic malignancies.
