Mycoplasma edwardii is regarded as a mycoplasma species associated with dogs, as it has predominantly been isolated from canine tissues. This anthropozoonotic microorganism is found in the upper respiratory and urogenital tracts of dogs and has been linked to pneumonia in earlier reports.
