Nocardia is a genus of saprophytic bacteria found widely in nature, capable of causing opportunistic infections in domestic animals, wildlife, and humans. Nocardia brasiliensis is a species of Nocardia. As with most members of Actinomycetota, they contain high guanine and cytosine content. It can cause nocardiosis.
