Target Information

Neisseria gonorrhoeae, a gram-negative bacterium, is primarily known for causing the sexually transmitted infection gonorrhea in humans. LPS is amajor component of the outer membrane of gram-negative bacteria, including N. gonorrhoeae. It consists of a lipid A moiety, a core oligosaccharide, and an O-antigen polysaccharide. In N. gonorrhoeae, the lipid A is particularly immunogenic and plays a significant role in the pathogen's virulence.
