Target Information

Bovine viral diarrhea virus (BVDV) is a significant pathogen affecting cattle, causing a range of clinical symptoms from mild to severe, including diarrhea, respiratory disease, and immunosuppression. The E2 glycoprotein is a major structural component of the BVDV virion and plays a key role in viral attachment to host cells and inducing immune responses against viral infection. The E2 glycoprotein is essential for binding to cell-surface receptors and contains major antigenic determinants that can elicit neutralizing antibodies during infection with BVDV .
