Target Information

Avian influenza (AI) viruses are categorized based on two protein groups: hemagglutinin ("H") proteins, numbering from H1 to H16, and neuraminidase ("N") proteins, ranging from N1 to N9. Various combinations of these "H" and "N" proteins exist. H3N3 influenza A virus was isolated from Canadian pigs in 2001.
