Animal/Insect Venom Metabolomics
Venoms are complex, yet underexplored, bioactive compounds that have roles and values beyond aiding animals or insects in killing their prey. Venom contains a variety of proteins, peptides, and other small molecule metabolites. The active metabolic components in the venom samples have a variety of biological functions, and some possess beneficial medicinal properties. BioVenic has recently introduced personalized analysis services for animal and insect venom metabolomics. These services aim to assist scientific researchers in utilizing state-of-the-art high-throughput detection tools and conducting comprehensive data analysis. The goal is to facilitate the study of the composition, biological effects, structure, and activity of toxins, as well as the biological information associated with venoms.

Animal/Insect Venom Metabolomics Services
- Sample Collection and Preparation
The collection, storage, and preparation of toxic secretions and venom samples are the initial and critical steps for metabolomic analysis. BioVenic processes samples obtained through direct acquisition or electrical stimulation using strict standardized protocols to ensure the integrity and high quality of the metabolic components of venoms and toxins.
- Metabolite Detection
BioVenic has a variety of biochemical detection platforms, including NMR, LC, GC, and multiple detection solutions combined with MS to ensure that the signals detected in animal and insect venom samples can be reliably identified.
- Data Acquisition
The application of a large spectral database built in-house by BioVenic increases the number of metabolites identified in analyzed samples. At the same time, after strict quality control of all test data, high-throughput data analysis and modeling tools are used for statistical analysis.
- Bioinformatics Analysis
BioVenic leverages extensive project experience in animal metabolomics to conduct comprehensive biological analysis of venoms and toxic secretions. This analysis aims to enhance customers' scientific research on the underlying biological mechanisms responsible for the presence of specific metabolites in the venoms or poisons being studied.
